POKOTABI / PLACES WORTH A DETOUR
ユメヤ
POKOTABIAt Yumeya, reviewers have praised the croissants for their buttery flavour and crisp texture, even when they were no longer fresh from the oven, and the salt bread for tasting good as it is. This small takeaway bakery also offers cream buns, savoury breads and sandwiches.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Reviewers say the croissants have a noticeable buttery flavour and crisp texture even when they are no longer fresh from the oven. They are a tempting place to start when choosing bread at Yumeya. The salt bread has also won praise: its dough was not too firm, its flavour was pronounced, and it tasted good without being warmed in a toaster. Try one of each to compare their buttery notes and textures.
For something sweet, options include a cream bun generously filled with cream and a melonpan that one diner said was easy to keep eating. Other customers have picked up cream-filled cornet rolls and anko butter sandwiches, alongside sweet breads suited to a snack and more substantial choices. Savoury breads and sandwiches are another draw. On one visit shortly before noon, around 4 types of sandwich and a combined total of about 9 savoury and sweet breads were on display. Some customers chose a pork cutlet sandwich or a fried prawn sandwich, making the selection worth a look if you want a light meal.
Yumeya is a small shop, and some customers particularly like its bacon epi and other crusty breads. There may be few items left at certain times, so if you have a particular bread in mind, visiting earlier is one option. The shop offers takeaway only, not dine-in, and accepts cash only.
